A Letter From Our CEO
Dear SNS Member,
As a value member of the Specialized Nursing Services (SNS) nursing family we want to update you on what we are doing to protect your health, your family, as well as all SNS health care providers as we face the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Coronavirus have been in existence since mid-1960 but its not until December 2019 that the seventh-type of coronavirus COVID-19 was discovered and named when it first appeared in China. COVID-19 has a range of symptoms from mild ones like dry cough to medium ones such as fever to more severe ones such as shortness of breath or Pneumonia. We have instructed our field staff to notify us if any of these symptoms are present.
We want to reassure you that every SNS staff has extensive training on Infections Disease and managing an array of virus as part of their education. In addition to state and federal Infection Control education, SNS mandates more detailed infection control for senior community during their orientation upon hiring. Furthermore, we have trained all office and field staff in the prevention of the spread of this virus. We are following all federal and regulatory guidelines from Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), US General Surgeon and others.
Included please find direct communication from CDC regarding what we all can do to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases. One of the most effective measure is appropriate hand washing. (please see included hand wash handout) Use these Infection Control handouts to join us in controlling the spread of this virus.
While the effects of this virus are serious, we have seen and learned from previous virus such as Influenza, Bird flu and Ebola on how to deliver senior care in the home during virus outbreaks. We want to assure you that will get through this together. We will remain dedicated to serve you every day with the same commitment to our values you have come to know. Your safety comes first.
